Well tried to call again today... No dice on Tim. I guess I ate the layover in Houston.
Did get a hold of Bill in the shop. Asked about a supposed update on the I shift... He said Ya that he does it at the shop.
Reading between the lines, and knowing what I know about trucks... They didn't setup the volvos correctly. I already had one call from Dan about the rewards system not being setup right... Now I see the trans isn't either. Hopefully they get it together on the next trucks.
And I asked about apu. Was told no more apu, no more used ones, and no more new ones period... So I'm on my own with that as well.
I'll have volvo reset more parameters when I go in for my oil change.
I hear all about family feeling here, but the more I try the more I feel like an outsider....

 

Well here is a new 680... Says he owns it. Wasn't real friendly when he seen I had a volvo.

 

Elogs froze up on me last night... Had to pull the fuses to the power to reset it. I had put it in sleeper, but it didn't take. Ate 1.25 hours of my time.
Called Dan and he couldn't fix it, told me to call people net who gave me the run around and still didn't fix it.
Called Tim and asked about getting off these elogs. Pretty much got told to live with it.
Two more days before I can start kicking this load off and 700 miles left.

 

I have been reading this thread and this company sounds good. I talked to a RoadRunner recruiter and they are processing my application. What else can you tell me about the company?? Do they pick your loads or would I be choosing them? Also they told me that I would have to ge myself to orientation, is that true or am I provided a way to get there?

 

Get yourself to orientation... They will get you a room.... But charge you for it later.

I have not gotten a truck yet, they are saying 2016 volvo for $775/week but all maintenence is covered. How's the money?? They are telling me take home of $1800/week, is that even close?

 

Some weeks yes... Some weeks no.. If I get two trips in a week I can get 22-3000 a pay period. Depends on the loads.
My volvo is 600 week and 200 month for maintenance is set aside. The rest I pay out of pocket.
Be aware with a volvo you will be put on elogs... No choice.
And they are set at 67 mph

 

I'm not too worried about elogs, though I would prefer paper. I have used elogs and they can be helpful sometimes. I'm a little apprehensive about this but looking more and more like I'm going to try this. I think that they told me it is a walk away lease, is this correct or am I getting them mixed up with another company I had talked to?

 

No its walk away... If you are not happy, bring the truck back to SD and it's all good.

 

Where do you mainly run? I live in Phoenix, AZ and am being told that getting home will be easy....
