:yes2557:Ok i bought the a chrome 29 weather cobra , brand new and Wilson antenna's ok nice setup, i was thinking back in the 98-99 year's when everybody talked on the radio, and played with there roger beeps and that msg i hated the most so annoying, (i got no panty's on ) yup that one, no i'm second guessing myself as too why i bought this setup, been thru allot states in a month, and the truck stop's are super quite now, pass anthor truck , yup no answer or i let them in , yup no answer just seem's like everybody just threw the cb out the window, i rember a time you get on or the lot lizard used them now you dont even see them or anything, too me the truck stop look's like a ghost town now, not like the old day's were driver's would be yapping on cb because they were bored, time's have change for sure.:yes2557:

there have been many discussions on here about drivers not using the radio anymore. my personal view on that subject is simple. the radio is a tool for the job. a very handy tool if you know what you are doing.

There was a time when the radio was very useful tool. The morons have changed that. It no longer has any meaningful usefulness that I can see. My radio is off most of the time now. When I change trucks, I don't think I'll bother to bring the radio with me.

I can't count the times I've pulled in and went to sleep with the radio on and was never disturbed the entire night. Things have changed allot.

Until everyone puts their name and cell phone number on the back of their trailer, a cb is still the best way to warn a driver of problems. Not everyone wants their cell number public, so I guess I'll just keep my cb on.

They are still a good tool. If drivers weren't on the phone and didn't have xm radio, I think more would turn the cb back on. But it seems like you can't have a decent conversation with anyone anymore without a smart '@#$ chiming in at some point. Very rude!.... and the foul language gets old pretty quit IMO too.

Speaking of lot lizards. I remember the old 76 in Tulsa back in the late 70s early 80s. They were always on the radio when you went through. Some of them were pretty entertaining on the airways too! Haven't heard the "girls" on the CB in W. Memphis now for several years....I guess that last big bust did them in. You can actually sleep there now without getting disturbed!
