come on, now nyc haters. the bqe is so clearly marked 12'6" in many areas to let you know that the overhead is low in the RIGHT lane. even near the brooklyn and manhattan bridges, where it says for tall trucks to detour to atlantic ave you can still make it just fine. if you really don't know what you're doing, just follow one of the many full height box trucks. i know this first hand, but you need not take my word, there are a few good youtube videos that will let you ride that route with a truck and see the signs yourself. shoot, if your load clears 12' you can even get in and out for free (no toll) from the new england side. i'll let you figure that one out. More importantly, i'd say don't be caught dead in daytime traffic, any serious ny car business will arrange to receive your load at night or (if used cars) has a 24 gas station nearby that can receive it. those loads don'tpay a premium for no reason. if their not paying the premium why bother?

oh yeah, next time your on the bronx side of the GW bridge, look up and try to count how many different color skid marks are on the ceiling.
interpreter Thanks this. -
I have to admit that I personally have 'signed the ceiling' under 'the apartments'
Fortunately, duct tape fixed the day !! .....and 12 rivets at the 'Mayflower' in Conn !!!!
Ahhh ---- those wee the days ..... the first days of air-ride trailers !!!interpreter Thanks this. -
And if somebody said to me: You have yer choice of any major city in the world .... where do you wanna truck ? I'd pick NYC in a second. Not only can I read a sign, but I can count. What is so hard to fathom about 13'6" and 1st Ave, 2nd Ave, 1st St, 2nd St ? ....... and that goes for all the Boroughs !!! And Nasau county .... and Jersey !
I love NYC
In my past years, because so many drivers refused to go there, I made GREAT coin on the 'NYC Premium' because I took the time to get to konw that place. Now, I miss it. NYC - 24-7

I "Could" be wrong but I think in some states, at least where I am, if more then $1500 in dmg is done it must be reported, but maybe theres different rules since its still brand new and not registered.
