A/C Help

    I've seen them leak slightly. That's why I turn the taps off on the block. Last week a guy I know had the same problem on his KW, I said turn off the block taps, bingo, he had cold air. I bet some of the newer el-cheapo trucks have the heater hoses plumbed straight in the block with no isolation taps.

    Mine failed in a blizzard. Didn't take long for the windshield to ice over...

    Bypass circuit means it won't happen again. I'm also not a fan of the thought of stagnant coolant sitting in my core for a few months.

    We're almost at the end of summer here, still about a month to go. The A/C's had a real workout and it hasn't missed a beat, but I got it prepped before summer with new receiver drier etc.
    I've got the old fashioned cable operated heater tap, even the thermostat for the A/C is cable. Simple, but definitely unsophisticated. Stagnant water in the core never really occurred to me, I'll check it out Monday, just finished a 6 week trip and its home time right now.
