A Co-Pilot Live (Droid) Review.

The reviews in the market say it doesn't work with car dock; any truth to this?

 

I had a Droid1 with the car dock and had no problems. Of course I always exited the dock app.(never liked the dock app)

 

There is a great app for that, its called easy tether and only costs 10 bucks for the full version....free version is limited to non-secured internet sites... I get 3 mbps connection speed when in 3G and 5 mbps when in 4G, I am using it now on my laptop to post this reply. I am using a EVO 4G with a 1ghz snapdragon processor, my son has a samsung moment with 600+ ghz processor and I can tell you that the processor that your phone has will make all the difference in how your all your apps and connections work,. Mine is 3 times faster than his with everything,,even when tethered to a laptop.....

 

i don't think using easy tether for internet purposes is what he had in mind. LOL.

there is a thread however about using your laptop screen as your phone screen.

 

Lol why pay for easy tether or wifi tether when u can get the full versions for free if your rooted

 

not free anymore. there's news posted that 3 of the 4 carries are now blocking those programs from the market. sprint is the only one still allowing such programs.

in other words, if you want to tether. it's going to cost you dearly. untill someone else develops something new that the carriers don't know about.

 

I thought having a laptop running was illegal? Similar to having a TV running and viewable by the driver?

Does this use minutes, or fall under the data plan?

In case anyone was curious. I have CoPilot Live 8 Trucker for Android and it works perfect. Took a while to download maps. I DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FIRST AND THEN MOVED APP TO SD BEFORE DOWNLOADING MAPS. Do not use with car dock as disclaimer from CoPilot clearly states that it will not work with all Car Docks. Do not use Car Dock anyway as I use Vlingo Keyboard and Voice Programing is built into Android so no Car Dock is needed when I can just speak into my bluetooth and say "Vlingo Open CoPilot" and it opens the program for me or any other thing I want to do on the phone. I can also call out or in while using CoPilot. I can use the internet at the same time too. Even use Qik video chat with my wife at home. Reroutes superfast and so far has been as accurate as Google Nav but with better routing. The Active Traffic is simply awesome and saves a lot of time. Any questions just ask and I'll answer as quick as possible.

 

why would you root your phone and void your warranty and make it so your manufacturer will not repair your phone, if needed. On a 4G phone Tethering is allowed by Sprint because I have to pay extra for the 4G data. Sprint has since added $10 to all non 4G smartphones to cover the cost of data for them to tether.

 

Make sure you move the App to your SD. That way it Does not use your Phones memory and slow it down. It will be super fast if your move it to your SD. I have a 1GHZ Snapdragon processor and a Sprint EVO 4G. This program is really good so far and is easier that Google Navigation for TRUCK ROUTING. WHEN DOWNLOADING MAPS WALK AWAY FROM YOUR PHONE AS IT TAKES A WHILE.
