Just had my first day or orientation and the company seems pretty good. Alot of long tenured employees. One just retired after 48yrs that's a long time they must have done something good. I'm excited to be joining a great time.

 

Yes thanks. Maybe I'm not sure I'm on dedicated at the dedicated location not at a terminal.

 

I can't see how people stay that long with my dedicated account being mileage. You barely make anything here, maybe 225 a day for the hours you put in is totally not worth it. Comes out to be like 20hr.

 

That's the problem with dedicated accounts and being mileage. They have an account not too far from me out of Stormville NY and a couple of guys told me the turnaround is crazy up there because the account itself doesn't pay well to Pyle and that gets passed down to the drivers. He said some guys are lucky if they see 160-170 a day being paid by the load/mile. I think the real money is at their P&D service centers or linehaul.

 

Yea that's the crazy thing I can totally see that 160-170 a day that's insanity for the hours you put in. Do you work with Pyle?

 

I worked there ,we got all the crap loads to the City.Didnt pay,everyone left or is leaving.Working for Ward now.But i will say ADP isnt a bad comp.,theyre ded accts and mileage is for the birds.Up at three I n the morning,home by 7 pm.No thnx.im tired of driving in NYC.no thnx.

 

How long have you been with ward and how you liking that? What type of work you going?

 

Just started,1 month.P&D.
Liking it alot so far.10 hr day for the most part my own tractor,trailer and door.No OT,but thats pretty much par for the course.So far pretty chill,smallest terminal in the company.No bigwigs around and all that.

 

Nice I have a hub by me maybe I'll check them out, what are you making weekly with them kinda hours? Benefits good with them you know of?
