Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the input.I'm still working in the trades as an electrician but am going for my cdl and a change of life this year. Everyone has been helpful on this site. A duie pyle seems to be not for me. Prob gonna pay outta pocket for my own training, that way I owe nothing to a trucking company, but while i still have some time on my job still just researching and asking questions. I think I'm gonna go for the sage school in Rome.NY.

I know a guy that works there. He runs a schedule and makes really good money. Just like any other ltl outfit. They have a very low turnover

Yeah I make good money right now. The eight to nine months a year I work. Working in upstate NY staring at 7am working for some crappy contractors bratty kid whos the foreman, telling me I should have already been finished with a job I just started. In ten degree weather in a frozen ditch running conduit that weighs about 120lbs every ten feet. So minus the crappy weather working conditions minus the three to four months unemployment a year, minus the fifty to sixty dollars a week gas money, carry the one equals I'm getting my cdl. but thanks though.
