    Nope, the maxxforce 11 & 13 were not derived from CAT. The maxxforce engine was derived from the MAN D20. The maxxforce 15 was derived from the C15 using the block, head and some hard parts. The fuel, air management, and electrical system are navistar based.

    Cat left the truck market due in part to OEM truck mfg having their own engines and pushing sales for them, and CAT On highway eng. was less then 10% revenue of their total engine business.

    Cat did tell them to go pound sand! If all the manufacturers had done this we wouldn't have all this crap on the new trucks. COWARDS!!! Go buy a glider kit and put an out of frame overhauled 6NZ in it.

    Given what is coming out from mfg's now, if they put that in the glider market they would attract buyers with it.
