thanks everyone for all the positive post. i'm really looking forward to this new adventure and like i told my wife as a new driver i have to pay my dues b4 i can get dedicated run.
i did ask my recruiter when i should request a trainer she just said when you get there lol XD.
im not too worried about learning to drive an 18wheeler the biggest thing i have driven so far is a 26' moving truck with a car carrier in tow from AL to CT and wasnt nervous at all. and when i took the test for my permit i studied my butt off for like 3 days took every practice test i could find online and weent down to the DMV and passed general, air, and combnation in like 15min had to rush cause they were going to lunch soon lol.
again thanks for the help :biggrin_25514:

    OK.... Let me try again.

If I get training that I don't have to pay for up front, but the cost of said training is deducted from my paycheck later... Was the training free or merely payment deferred?

It never becomes free. You NEVER recoup the original duction of pay.

The best one can hope for is a mitigation of the original expense by future earnings.

The intial expense is NEVER free.

The first year after you go solo, swift takes $37.50 out of your check each week. The second year, swift adds $37.50 to your check every week. So after two years you break even. Swift sucks, but there is a lot of places that are worse.

Do they? Or do they merely "stop" deducting?

Swift puts the $37.50 back into your paycheck after the first year. So toostroked is correct.

The reason why i want to drive for swift is to get verifiable experience and because they are leanient with ****** up records. The experience i have is not verifiable....I drove ever since i got my class a cdl When I was 21 but not for any company..and..I was hauling bulk cement and dry van.I helped my friend drive when he was sleeping and tired and he gave me what I put into but with cash...it was nice, very fun....I drove some pretty good trucks though not like the pieces of **** that swift gives you to drive....
