You need to drive for HEB Grocery Company in Texas....They have 3 terminals and plan on building another in houston....They got one in corpus, san antonio and waco.....You have to be 25 with PERRRRFECCTT MVR,CRIMINAL,AND DAC Records...You also have to be 25 I believe with some years of experience...Ill find out though....My dad still drives for them and he started in the 70's and he was bringing home 400 dollars a week clear and that was in the 70's.It progressed over the decades and now hes one of a few drivers with top seniority...He makes around 70k+ gross and they give him the easy runs like to the valley once or twice a week and just around to corpus and aransas pass in texas 5 days a week and weekends off.HEB drivers only drive texas ...What Kept my dad going was he never had any moving violations or accidents since he started to the present day today...Right now he is off and we are going to bbq instead of him being a otr in a filthy truckstop with a bunch of nasty stinky fat ugly looking truckers somewhere in the middle of lala loo loo land in the middle of nowhere far from home...Hes the one they gave me the idea and i wish i could drive local like him for HEB but they dont train anymore but it was also easier to get a local job like that.He went with a trainer for two weeks. He also got his class a cdl before that for free just using a class b dumptruck. They just called it a cdl back then but then they came up with the class types of cdls later.HEB doesnt train anymore tho so I have to start with OTR which is going to suck but oh well.HEB start their drivers around 50k a year and progress over the years.WAL MART is neck and neck with the pay with their drivers. My cousin drives there and is up there in the 60k range and he works 4 days on and 4 off and he just drives texas and sometimes around bentonville, arkansas.Im trying to work myself up to heb or wal mart....It will be a while especially with today's traffic....Good Luck with swift and choose wisely..

Do the dockworkers at HEB, San Antoine, still have that attitude with OTR drivers making deliveries? In 32 years of OTR driving, no consignee stands out in my mind like HEB (Homer E. Butts, right?) in San Antoine......

Its spelt San Antonio.Im just suggesting that he works for a better stronger company with more pay and more home time than all the OTR companies since it would be locally in state. If I knew of a job like that in another state then I would move over there, get rich and then come back to texas and retire or buy my own truck

Yeah I know it's spelled San Antonio, but I always liked the country western song where it's pronounced "San An-tone". And I know He is a driver for HEB, and not a dockworker. Can you do the O/O thing with Parkway (HEBs in house carrier). ?

Not true, they pay you back completely if you stay with them for 26 months. I was just there and saw the paperwork. It's in black and white.

300 a month to them for 13 months 150 a month to you for 26 months. Do the math. $0.00
