Walmart used to have stringent requirements. And paid really good. Then they started advertising for anyone. Don't know what they're doing these days.
Unless you are a current Walmart "warehouse" employee--Walmart (otherwise) wants AT LEAST 30 months experience--& a clean record. --Lual
Just following up. I had an in person interview today and was offered a job starting March 20th. I still have to drug test and drive test but that where I'm at!
Nice dude!! Not sure why anyone would suggest staying put… ffs. If you want the Kroger job and could find out it was legit, I just couldn’t see what reason you had not to go for it. And for quitting your way to the top.. that’s often how you get a “raise” in this industry. My trajectory was: OTR tanker ~60k/yr worked there 0-6 months experience local tanker~ 75k/yr home every day 6-20 months experience food service 110k+/yr 4day work week 20+ months experience. Been here around 18 months or so. EDIT: wanted to add this company used to be a 5yr experience company. They lowered it to 2, and still hired me. I just happened to see the ad at just the right time and talk to just the right guy… almost lost the job because I dragged my feet jumping on it. Hind sight it was a NO BRAINER imagine if I had stayed at the first company?
No, my back would be weaker, my gut would be fatter, not to mention the depression and lethargy from sitting so much. My hat is off to all you guys who manage to do OTR… I’m not knocking it, it just ain’t for me. I like being home and moving my body too much I guess. That said, yes I’m in food service but- most of the load is palletized so there’s not a ton of digging and all the trailers have lift gates so no up and down the ramp.
I did food service for about 6 months years ago.I was in much better shape then, and it still kicked my arse. Hats off to you.
