It is a contract but more precisely, an addendum to the broker-carrier contract. Rate con shows the rate and all other "conditions" for that very individual load that are not included in the proper broker-carrier agreement. So for example, if there is detention or TONU involved, these things are discussed in the general broker-carrier contract but can be overridden by the rate con. Cancellation on the part of the broker means TONU, therefore waiting at a truck stop for a load that pays $1000 than similar lanes at a given time is a little risky proposition, or at least can make a person suspicious. I've fallen into this trap too, however, it does not mean that all these "super paying" loads will be cancelled.

@femalecdla - This is the first time, I hear Convoy does something like that. However, those loads on the Convoy app can be also from other brokers, maybe even direct shippers, who are using their app as a platform to post loads. For example, USA Truck has often posted their freight on it. So Convoy may not have been a direct culprit for this incident, but it they were then it was not very kind of them.

"We lost 2 days revenue plus fuel costs as we fueled prior to pickup."
That only makes sense if you then poured the fuel out on the ground. I'm pretty sure once the fuel is in the truck you can use it later.
    Good grief......

Gonna go out on a limb and say Convoy doesn't care one way or another.

Would red dye fuel.be considered specialized. Asking for a friend.

    “Secured freight carrier”
    Idk what that means.
I got a pretty good idea what booking work off of convoy means though....

you should have taken the TONU the first day itself and booked another load.

When the load was delayed convoy kept you on a back burner until they could get a cheap carrier to haul the freight.

Here confirmation is a “Memorandum of Understanding” referring to a pending contract. It is a binding agreement to a point, but the B.O.L itself is the contract. Under our laws it’s pretty simple really, if the load moves, whoever has the copy of the P.O.D. with ink on it is getting paid. Beyond that, everybody else involved in whatever way is taking what they have, lawyering up, and heading to court. That’s where picking your battles comes into play, court is one of the few places I know of where you can win, and still lose.

Yeah I got a chuckle out of that

take the TONU money and move on with your life .

and stop trusting brokers . They are all slime who will screw you or anyone else in a flash to put a few hundred more dollars in their pocket .
