You are not even in the industry yet and you are thinking of buying a truck? I wouldn't be in a hurry to own a truck, right now things are not that great in trucking, miles are down every where. The economy is bad, not a good time to be starting out as an o/o. I would stay working for a company right now, no need to put yourself in debt to buy a truck if you can make money driving someone else's. I worry when I hear people say they are new to the industry, they have bad credit, but they really want to own a truck. I hope they don't think they are going to get rich owning a truck because you will not.

You say your credit is not good, wait, what's the hurry to buy a truck, why not wait until you can rebuild your credit. Starting a business with bad credit is not a good start. I don't really trust those kind of dealers, with inhouse financing and their warranties. I would be very careful. Also, what would you do if you need major repairs like an engine rebuild. How would you get the money, would you be able to borrow money with your bad credit. Remember this is a business, and a lot of people who buy trucks don't think of it like that, they just think of it as owning a truck.

If you do one day buy a truck, get yourself a good accountant, and get incorporated before you do.

    Scooter...who do you drive for?

I am also a newbie. In fact, I will have my CDL A in about 5 weeks.

I have come to the conclusion that it is larger training company for me right now and look at options later.
