Start at the top and work your way down. Your career counselor at school is probably a pretty good judge of your situation, but try anyway. Lots of companies to apply with. Submit applications now; don't wait. Do some online applications.
    Abilene Motor Express
    Freymiller
    Navajo Express
    Magnum Ltd.
    TransAm
    WLA Inc.
    Inman Trucking Co.
    Cooke Trucking Co.
    Hardy Bros. Inc.

    Second Chance
    Carolina Southern
    USA Truck
    Carolina Cargo
    PI&I Motor Express
    Ard Trucking Company

It's better to submit online applications first, before any phone calls. This gives the companies time to look over your application before talking to you.
The more applications you submit, the better. Start now, don't wait until graduation.
Don't volunteer any information that isn't asked for.

Look at the wording carefully on job applications.
    Example:
"Have you EVER had a DUI"
"Have you had a DUI within the last X years"

Big difference in how you answer.

Here is a virtual pat on the back on your sobriety. I;m coming up on 15 years and I had that same revelation, stop drinking and drugging and stop going to jail !

LIke others have said, you shouldnt have any problem getting on with any of the starter companies -

    Good Luck

Some applications may have "experience required", but ignore that and apply anyway. I think Freymiller is one of those, but they do hire new cdl grads.

Based on what you have said, I dont think you have a lot to worry about? With that said, once you get to work, you can always work on getting your records Exponged (Sealed) and they wont be available to employers. Good Luck.

    This can't be stressed enough.

Make sure you read, and re-read, the question and answer it accordingly - exactly what it's asking for.

Have you had a DUI / DWI in the last 7 - 10 years? No.
Have you EVER had one? Yes.

In your situation, I would get a TWIC card and Hazmat/Tanker endorsements BEFORE submitting applications?
Why? Even if you have no desire to pull hazmat/tanker, this will greatly increase your chances of getting hired by a better company.
