Today was pretty much the same, tight places and slippery parking lots...Those two adjectives used to have much different meanings to me!
Overall though, the last 2 days have really given me confidence as I've had to make the truck all but dance...One thing notably interesting today was I had to turn the truck around in a place so tight the tandems were actually rolling backwards, that was a first for me!Last edited: Dec 9, 2010

I remember my training days at the first company out of school. My trainer was a GREAT guy and even better teacher. He used to love having me take "rookie roads" rather than the big roads when we were loaded. His reasoning was that I had already showed him I could drive on a big road and learned to float my shifts. So, now he wanted to see if I could actually handle #80,000 on 2 lane roads and everywhere else.
I don't think a day goes by that I don't use some bit of information he taught me. Being taught by one of the old school fellows really helped me.
I remember his rule #1. "You scratch my truck, you don't get a job!". It stuck too. I drive every company truck like it was my own.Katey Thanks this.
