I've had 3 "brain surgeons" in 4 wheelers park in my loading dock slot at Costco while I was backing...... "Oh, am I in your way?!?"

when i first started driving cement mixer one of the trucks i drove was a dead front Mack with a 5sp. it had an air switch on the stick that controlled hi-low-neutral and reverse, if you backed in some place and put the stick in neutral and didnt flip the air switch out of reverse it would still beep the backup alarm--- cant count the times i got out and got to the back of the truck only to have to go back to the cab to flip that switch

How loud are back up "beeps"? Do they wake people up when someone is backing? Would you be able to back up like in a apartment complex? If you were in your apartment at the apartment complex and you were on the 3rd story and had a metal door would you still be able to hear a Werner truck backing up? Do you think the truck is louder with the trailer or without the trailer. How much do you think the back up alarm would cost?

Sorry just figured I would keep the questions consistent with the thread title!

Good one Celtic! I got the giggles!

Copper,we were doing some concrete pumping here in MD in a real sensitve area so the back up alarms sounded like ducks(so not to disturb the wild life). Lucky them,we just have to put up with rerun, lol

i never heard any that sounded like ducks(lol). they are worried about the alarms disturbing the wildlife. what about the pump banging each time it cycles and shakes the ground or the noise of the diesels running or even the fans when the kick on.
    sorry for the rant---

I don't really worry about what sounds my truck or reefer makes when the teenager in the compact in the next lane has a bass so loud that I can hear his thrump thrump thrump over my truck's engine.
