You're getting a good deal on that trailer rent if maintenance is included in that price.

did you get any push back from brokers about not having enough experience.

Was it difficult to get insurance? There have been few posts about getting crazy quotes because of no experience.

I drove for someone else close to 5 years before doing the O/O thing. Had nearly zero flatbed experience, so I watched lots of YouTube videos to learn. All my equipment is paid for. Didn’t lease on with someone because I wanted to be truly independent although I did consider it.
I actually hauled for them once, and they pay fast. They’re good to deal with other than they like to track your movements the whole trip.

    DSK333 Thanks this.

No credit check, no mileage limit, communal purchase then lease to member. Maintenance not included.

Once I'm done with it (or by my own), I pass it on to another member.

    No pushback, no experience asked.

    hasrem and DSK333 Thank this.

I would say most of the mileage penalty is the W9 as opposed to the CAT and possibly geared to short for a CAT. In my experience the W9 with side mounted stacks and air cleaners is the worst of the trucks aerodynamically.

    In our pre-EGR/ Pre-ACERT engines our Aero Trucks had the 12.7 S60 S13 & 3.55 and 3406E/C15 S13 & 3.36 and fuel mileage was almost identical.

We even got upper 6's at 65 mph out of Mechanical CAT's in Aero Trucks.

You ever run a w9 with the old style sleeper and try for mileage? I can get 6 with it but it involves speeding in most states.

It goes down the road at 70 at 1400rpm. The gearing seems about right, but the aerodynamics certainly don’t help. Not a whole like I can easily do about that.

97 KW W900L with a 550hp Cat 3406E, 13 speed and 3.55s. I was looking for any 1994-2000 sleeper truck that wasn’t a Freightliner. Preferred a Detroit S60 for mileage, but the truck I bought was a decent price at the right time. A T800 with a 500hp S60 and a 13 speed with 3.70s is what I really want, but the truck I have is really good for all the mountain driving I do.
