The honey hole is always moving. Once you think you've found it, then it dries up.

So... where'd you end up parking?

Had to buy a space at Denver East TA. Watching the parade of trucks endlessly circling like vultures.

Security ran off the sow lizard that was banging on doors before she (it?) made it to my truck.

That mall I mentioned is right across Quebec street from there... you take 49th east, and take a right before you see the Target store. That road goes around the outside of the mall. It's fairly high end, lots of women, restaurants and a large theater - plus some of the usual outlets. Beats hangin' out at the TA watchin' the parking rodeo.

Is that where the trucks park along the access road next to the restaurants?

I thought about heading over there, but the thought of spending money wasn't too appealing considering how freight is moving right now. Besides, I've been catching up on paperwork and getting the trip planning (such as it is) done for the next trip.

Annnnd.... I just blew a brake chamber on the loaner trailer. Glad it happened while I'm parked here instead of on the road. Another good reason not to set the trailer brakes.

    Back later...

Brakes are back to functional, $178.24 later. This is the most reasonable and laid back TA shop I've dealt with so far.

A little off topic, but pulling the red valve doesn't make them go bad any faster. Usually the spring breaks from corrosion and pops the diaphragm. Shake the old chamber and you'll probably hear the broken pieces rattling.

Only time I do not set trailer brakes is winter and running wet, frozen trailer brakes are a hassle.

Ah, sorry I wasn't clear. Keeping the trailer brakes released while parked allowed the failure to occur and be detected next to the shop, rather than at 0430 in middle-of-nowhere Kansas on a 2 lane road with no shoulder and iffy phone service.

Yesturday called about a load, Nashville, tn to SC. Utility pole (they pay good) was offered $1000 asked for $1200 got called a thief for asking for more money, and after a heated email conversation, agent told me he would have me removed from approved carrier list, i just let him know that not all LS agents where out ripping the rates apart.
