Thanks, x1.
My understanding is that we only deliver to retail locations, no construction, residential, etc. (at least what I'll be doing, anyway. I won't be a local driver, strictly short-haul OTR).
A new, new direction...

I actually have a furnature store of some quality in town down the road as the crow flies. Im fixing to make some purchasing there within the year to replace some chairs and beds that have been approaching 30+ years of use and is contributing to my current battle with arthritis etc.
I think you will enjoy delivery to small retail stores more than say a grocery cold storage.JReding Thanks this. -

I got it confirmed this morning, still waiting for a full pay breakdown, but I’ll be at .42/mile. Is that a dent rate? I’ve never had mileage pay before...

.42 aint too bad. Hopefully it's actual miles. You lose approx 20% on HHG zone miles.
JReding and Trucking in Tennessee Thank this. -
You shouldn’t need to scale a load of home furniture. The heaviest individual thing we hauled was a sleeper sofa at 280 lbs or maybe a hutch in the low 300s. A total load of heavy dinettes and dressers might get in the low 20k’s. A load of strictly regular sofas might weigh 4500. I usually was at 15k or less. OP you will get in shape especially this time of year.
We were paid on the hub and per stop.stwik, Dave_in_AZ, KillingTime and 2 others Thank this. -
