    Rat,

If that is what you want, I would get a President Grant if it were me. It has one of the best receiver's out there. (I'm talking an older one, on the used market.)

Most SSB users are found on ch-38 at least around here. SSB is realy a good mode as you know I have been running it on many bands for more tha 40 years SSB and a well thought out FM station will beat AM every time.

Understand that but the drivers in our fleet don't have 10 meter radios muchless anything to do with FM mode. Many of them are just now getting away from regular non sideband radios and getting galaxies or something similar.

I am not playing on the radio all that much these days. I pulled down my Palomar 3 weeks ago and am running my radio without a linear.

I have been thinking just a regular radio with sideband and an RM amp of some sort since they are cheap and don't need a ton of amperage to run them. Just want enough to get over all the skip noise so I can talk locally now adays.

Get a good SSB CB .... My comment was to say AM does not keep up with SSB OR FM not that you should get a radio with FM in it ....
Illegal or not the RM amps work just fine ....
