Here's a little secret for you and the rest of the drivers here.....
Those 4-wheelers that cut you off, flip you the bird, draft your rig and so on....Are the ones who support stricter laws for truckers.......Just so you know....It's "The truckers" who cause "all" of the "problems" according to our 4-wheeler "friends" out on the ribbon.....

I need a sign/T-shirt,,, hell let's all chip in for a billboard, that says.
"the airhorn is the last thing you hear, before the metal starts crunching. (please give trucks a wide berth)" -
Thank you for the kind words.
Although a bit strapped for time, I'm researching what it will take to "educate" the general public with at least an introduction to big trucks and the facts behind the reality of them. Like we were educated in the safe operation and space needs while traveling with our 4 wheeled counterparts, they need the the same information we have. Only then will the roads be safer for all of us out there.
I want to get the DOT involved in this. As with most government agencies, they simply don't get it and attack the problem from the wrong angle.
The answer is NOT imposing more and stiffer regulations on professional truck drivers, it's "educating" the REST of the drivers out there with the same knowledge we have. So in short, it's education, NOT regulation that is needed.
I don't care how much regulation you place on truck drivers. We simply can't do it all ourselves. -
Thank You! That really means a lot!

In large part true, but would they if they knew what we do about big trucks?
In my humble opinion, it's simply a lack of knowledge that leads them to thinking "we truck drivers" are doing something wrong. -
I'll tell you what's really starting to burn my britches,,,
these new "have you been hit by a truck?" Lawyers.
I see there billboards more and more.
One of these days I'm gonna call that 800# and say, "have you represented a client that has no concept of high school physics?"Mountainman444, tech10171968 and chralb Thank this. -
Another thing to be considered, is the highway, or any street, is the truck driver's workplace. His office. None of us like a nuisance in our workplace, whether it be a cubicle, home, or the road. Have a little respect.

Couldn't have said it better myself...
Flying Dutchman Thanks this. -
Wow,
Mr. Jones seems to be bordering on an anger management problem. -
Call and say that you're in a semi and was rear-ended by a 4-wheeler who was too busy talking on the phone to notice that traffic was stopped up ahead and they ran into the back of your trailer. Say you want to sue the driver of the car for damaging your trailer and ask if they'll represent you.
