2013 DD15, 9 minutes forced or passive, I believe because the filter is smaller.
Even stopped engine hit the over ride and drive off if I can go to the hwy. Forced regen runs a touch over 1100 rpm, which is also about as high as I can set the fast idle.
There is an odor during parked regens I have been noticing now with weed burner exhaust.

We took one of the company trucks to Wester Star in Guelph ON. I did a regen but didn't work so we decided to take it for a proper cleaning. Well instead of removing the DPF filter to do a proper job they did I guess 4 regens one ofter the other. Next day when I went to pick up the truck I heard a really weird noise coming from around the one box. Well the flex pipe was all burnt and the one box cracked. So obiously the DPF fiter was so clogged that the pressure and heat needed to find its way out. Since that day I been living a nightmare. Now they are pointing fingers to the place were the one box was fixed after Wester star cracked. Why some people is so lazy? They could do a decent job. Now my employer has to pay a big bill for something like this.

I am not driving thru a construction zone and gamble derating. Another reason not to park on shoulders. Gravity holds the atmosphere, not man made activity, it is preventable politics in my opinion.
Man can not replicate gravity or explain the math behind climate theories. I appreciate cleaner air at truck stops all the same. It was really bad. People parking in bad spots make people angry. -
How do I do a running regen on a kenworth t680? I been driving for three months now and never had a problem with def or had to do a regen? The light came on today and then went off and then back on. I was told I could do it while driving? Is that possible?

If so, Passive and Automatic regens don't involve any action from you. There are four levels of warning light on the dash. If it's telling you "high exhaust temperature warning" it's doing an automatic regen (usually happens at slow speed, <5mph). Passives happen while driving at high speed (>35mph).
Get out your users manual and do some reading. Many companies barely know anything about this new equipment, and never teach drivers how to use it properly.
The last thing you want is a clogged DPF, a full derate (5% power) and a shutdown requiring a tow to get the DPF cleaned at a certified shop. I assume you are idling the truck between 1200-1400 RPM? Never dead idle a MX-13, either idle up or shut it off.
If the truck starts asking for a parked regen, all you need to do is park away from flammable material (depends on your exhaust configuration), turn off everything but the motor (no cruise, not jakes, no PTO, etc) and push the regen switch 4-8 seconds. They take between 45-90 minutes depending on how clogged the filter is.
I watch the official Paccar MX-13 instructional video every few weeks while teaching an orientation class, so I'm fairly certain this is pretty much 100% accurate.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
At my work we have 2010-2014 (mostly '10 and '11) isx12 that are geared pretty low. 1900 rpm at 65 for offroad work and I've never done a parked regen. Keeping the rpms up on these dpf scr motors really helps them run better. You'll lose some mpg but save a lot of emission problems down the road so it evens it out. We still get 5.5mpg on short trips loaded 80k one way and the pto kicked on at 1600. Empty they run like a raped ape. 425/1650tq and id guess 4.33 rears

DPF technology has come long way since this post was started. I'm driving a 2017 Cascada with DD13 and it has Detroit Optimized idle. No APU on truck just use the truck engine for a/c or heat or battery charging or engine oil temp.
The cool part is it does parked regeneration automatically ! The Optimized Idle system can start and stop the engine. So when the DPF is full it can also regen automatically. Today it only takes 20 minutes and only 1250 RPMs. During a 34 hour restart it does 1 or 2 regeneration. It all just depends on the idle time.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
ok, so the dashboard says it needs a ten minute parked regen but it might take an hour?
and this process stops on its own?
driving a 2015 T680 with MX-13 been idling for 20 hours on this tank because I am babysitting this load until tuesday day after labor day, 34 hour break is done but sit waiting for something to do. -
CuJT Pres. Thanks this.

Thanks for the info, I even downloaded the manual from Paccar and couldn't find that answer.
