#### it same thing happened.
Anyway I was just trying to put a load together and called on it and had another partial that I could have made a good paying load out of both. Just didn't work out. No biggie sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
I pull my own customers freight out and was looking for a load home. The crane appointment wasn't in the info.dca Thanks this. -
When they list a ld. as a partial, it used to mean the delivery time window was open. Well within reason..
now these dip wad brokers will list lowboy or step freight as a partial.25' long, but it only weighs 30,000.
Well guess what, my well only has 29', plus 30 k for my setup is a overweight ld.. But they only want to offer like 1.50 or 2.00 a mile and it has to be there like in 2 days 800 miles..
Well guess what. That's a trk. ld. and the rate needs to go up.... -
I agree, even on a step a 35' piece isn't really a partial. Most of the customers & brokers I pull for on a regular basis understand and will tell the customer whats up. I went from a 36500# tare to a 33700# tare. Changed trailers 53' steel to 48' aluminum that helped some when getting out Timbuktu. But putting tracked equipment on a aluminum step sure makes me nervous. It sure flexes a lot.

Negotiate. Tell them when you'll be there. Let them know your hourly charge if you have to wait on the crane. Everything's negotiable. If you can't reach a negotiated agreement, then don't sign the rate confirmation.
-
Every load is negotiable. But when your in a bad area and they know it and there is a 8 trucks to 1 load area its take it or leave it.
Hopefully one day things will get better.
I'm lucky I can leave it. I'll bounce.
I had to find a load to go 800 miles to get the load I'm under now. Landstar saved the day there they had a load Going close to where I needed to be.
But I had a couple of weeks notice so that helps too. -
I just had another "request for quote" come through yesterday: In the comments it had "RGN, partial load, pays $1700"........24' of my 29' well, OW, 1975mi. It's always good to start your morning off with a laugh!
Ruthless Thanks this. -
Big John....Don't ever feel 'bad' or sorry for these brokers..Believe me,That "partial" was paying a full rate.....They will BS their own Mother to get a leg up....
You shoulda 'back solicited that Broker just for the Principle.
you guys really need to start letting these customers know how their transportation funds are being distributed when brokers do this kind of stuff.....
Sure, You could have said ,"No,Thanks" to that load...But the Problem will never get fixed when it gets passed on and on,Day after day,Year after year.driverdriver Thanks this. -
If I would have the time at that point I sure would like to.
Hopefully soon the tables will turn and we will have more control. Until then I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I'm not getting rich but the wheels are turning and I'm still enjoying what I do so that helps!
