I don't mind dropping at the Walmart in Plainview. The problem is that they never have any empties. Sometimes the planner can get you a load out of Caviness in Hereford without having an empty, but everything else requires one. So, you might have to wait a day to get an empty, and then, since you're in the meat patch, you wait more to get loaded. I prefer to take a McLane load. They have always unloaded me in two hours or less, and I already have an empty when I'm done. The best part is that they won't take any cases that are even slightly damaged. Since we usually take candy to them, you can sometimes end up with a case or two of some chocolate or candy product. It doesn't happen often, but when it does it's a nice little bonus.

The no empty trailer at Wal-Mart it why I now try to avoid going there. They used to be good about having empties, but now they just keep there #### stored on the trailers. The sad part is that FFE knows they do that and doesn't do anything about it. If it where my trailers; I would be all over there arse for using my trailers for their storage and would threaten to no longer haul their crap if they could not unload the trailer for my drivers to take when they get there.

Taking the rest of the day off. Tweaked an old military injury on my wrist when I stopped to do paperwork. Pain was so bad that I passed out for half an hour. Good thing I was already stopped.
On the plus side....Wal-Mart here in Plainview had about 7 empty trailers on the empty lot. Asked the guard the about it and he said that they finally started unloading the halloween trailers that we brought up like a month or so ago. -

I passed by Lancaster and I noticed that the Grande is now a Clarion. Does anyone know if we are still using it for orientation and if they have a discount?
-
The Grande has been Clarion for a while now. They finally got around to changing the sign I guess. I stayed there a few weeks ago for the night and still got the FFE rate. Not sure about orientation though.

Was there Sunday and Monday night and saw Frank so... We still get a discounted rate. For some reason it's cheaper to get a voucher and have it billed from payroll than to pay the hotel directly. A single king was only $55 when billed through payroll.

They painted the hotel too. It's now a silverish white color with maroon trim. I was at the Lancaster yard this morning and checked out the new break room. Everything has been pulled out and there are just wires and a/c ducts. They need to make the bathrooms bigger and add more showers and washers and dryers.
