Well, I called KLLM about converting my lease over to them. They are offering $2500 bonus to convert over to their lease. $1000 paid on first dispatch and $1500 after 30 days. Plus, they are paying you $500 for the three days it will take to do everything. I am not sure how long that bonus will be their, but I decided to go ahead an convert my lease over to them. You have the option to keep your current truck if you have a '12 or '13 Cascadia or you can get one of their trucks. But, I am keeping my truck. I have my "class" set up for Oct. 16. The classes fill up quick.

I am also keeping my truck. Everything works, so there is no reason to take a chance on another truck that might have issues. Also, my truck has Opti-Idle and a bunk heater. From what I have seen so far, the KLLM trucks do not have either. If you want to run the A/C in a KLLM truck, you high-idle it, which means the engine runs the whole time. That can get expensive during the summer. My class is October 9th.

I tried to get the Oct. 9 class, but it was already overbooked.

Picked up my next load at AmeriCold in Belvidere, IL and now on my way back to Florida.

What day of the week did you pick up in South Haven, MS? What did you haul?

I deliver this load at Wal-Mart in Arcadia, FL, then dead head up to Albany, GA (again) to pick up a load of peanuts going to Laredo this time instead of Chicago.
-
The only thing I usually get leaving Florida is a peanut load out of Albany. I have never gone to Laredo with peanuts. I usually go to Waco or Chicago, and that Chicago plant sucks. They built it in 1929 when nothing was around it. Now there is a residential neighborhood in all directions. The peanut loads usually weigh about 44000 pounds and you need to move the 5th wheel forward two notches if you want to carry any fuel. I never have to move my 5th wheel for anything else so I just started leaving it where it is so I can carry peanuts.
They also have loads that leave out of Riviera Beach, FL twice a week that go to Dallas, but the Florida regulars get those loads. It's usually garlic products going to a cold storage place in Dallas. I got that load once, most likely because one of the regulars needed time off.
What did you haul from South Haven, MS to Dundee? What day of the week did you pick it up? I am in OK right now and will be heading to MS and then AL. I don't have delivery appointments yet, but if the South Haven to Dundee picks up early in the week I might get it. I'm not going to have this issue with KLLM. I'm either going to make sure I can get to FL on a regular basis or I am going to change the place I call "home". Southern California and Las Vegas are possible alternatives. Granted, I don't really live anywhere, but when I take time off I want it to be in a place where I can do things. I'm sick of taking time off in Dallas because that is the only place I can get to.
I have been to the KLLM website and there is a tab that lists available loads. There is always a bunch of stuff that leaves Ponchatoula, LA. Does anyone know what plant that is? I noticed they have some really good loads with lots of miles. Last night they had three or four loads to WA and OR and even one to FL. I have a feeling I am going to get to know that place quite well, whatever it is. The loads are even 28000 pounds or less. Right now they have loads to WA, OR, AZ, NH and FL, and lots of shorter loads too. -
I had picked up at the Olive Branch, MS yard to go to Dundee, FL. I don't remember the exact date, but it was about a week ago. This will be second time to go to Laredo with peanuts from Albany, GA.
