I got a call from KLLM today. They want to move the orientation start date to Monday because there is too much stuff to be done in one week. That means I need to be there on the 7th.

I asked about the deposits and maintenance accounts I have with my current lease. They confirmed I will get back my maintenance account money and my escrow, but they are unsure if the $2200 security deposit will be refunded. If not, the $2500 sign on bonus that KLLM offers is really just $250. I was also told not to do any major work to my truck because they will do a complete DOT inspection as part of the switch, and any needed repairs will be paid by them. This is not a rumor, it is exactly what I was told. Of course, with my luck, I got a DOT inspection and PM two weeks ago.

The hotel they use is a Super 8, or a Motel 6 if you have pets. Trainees and company drivers are expected to share a room, but L/O and O/O get singles. I am pretty sure Super 8 does not offer much of a breakfast, so plan accordingly.

I will provide more info as I get it.

One more thing. If you already have a current medical card, you won't need to have another physical done.

    trips74 Thanks this.

My bunk heater did not work either last week when I turned it on. It made some clicking noises and the fan never came on. I turned it off, waited awhile and tried again and it started working. Now it works just fine. I can't explain it. I hope they fix it for you, but I don't know if KLLM uses bunk heaters, so the mechanics might not know what to do with yours.

I believe the hotel is this one. Super 8, 1158 Highway 49 S, Richland, MS 39218.

There is a Taco Bell next door, a Popeyes two buildings away and a McDonald's next to that. Breakfast won't be an issue.

I had the recruiter email me the address for the yard and motel. I think she did make a typo by saying that orientation starts at 8pm.

I have no clue how they are changing over the company drivers. As far at their midwest regional; you have to ask the recruiter about that.

Meanwhile, enjoying the rest of my boudin and banana pudding here in Louisiana.

I don't have any answers yet, but I will update this thread every day next week as I go though orientation. Macho, did you get a call moving your start date up to Monday the 14th?

They sent out a fleet message to all FFE drivers stating that anyone who takes a break in Jackson needs to do it at the yard, not the truck stop. This is interesting, because the yard does not look that big from what I can see on Google and Bing maps.
