You are very wrong my friend. Pot is legal in some cases and states.
Calling a drug LEGAL does not make it's usage less dangerous.
I've never met a stoner who wanted to beat my ### after having a joint. But I have met more than my fair share of drunks who wanted to beat the entire worlds ###.
A trip to your local bar will prove my point.
You NEVER saw a case of spousal abuse with POT being labeled as the root cause.

Agreed!
YOU messed up unfortunately and finding another trucking job will be almost impossible. -
outside of medical use it isnt legal anywhere in the us
-
Thank you for your help. What these people don't understand is, I am not looking for pity. I guess they don't see this because they are selfish ignorant truck drivers. I know I messed up big time, and have no one else to blame but myself.

Yes that is what I'm hearing. My brothers friend owns a trucking company here in Michigan, and I spoke with him yesterday. He said he could probably use me in one of his straight trucks, where no CDL is needed, but it will be about 3 years or so before I would be able to drive a tractor trailer again. Mainly insurance purposes, and that the Government would give him poop for hiring a drug user. I can assure you I will not be smoking weed anymore. Thanks for the reply and good luck in everything you do.

Thanks for your post. That info is what I was looking for. The consequences. You have been helpful. Thanks again.

I'm sorry for you finding yourself in this situation. Unfortunately, not everyone realizes that there are consequences to what you do off the job that can have a major effect on what you do on the job. There are approved Substance Abuse Programs (SAP) available, and if you plan on driving in the future, then you probably should look into one of them and get it done and on the record.
Unfortunately for you, there are a few occupations where substance abuse is heavily monitored, and transportation happens to be one of them. You can overcome the issues of past drug tests with time, but that is the only thing that will clear it. It's a rough lesson to have to learn, but hopefully, you'll come out at the other end with a better understanding of the cause and effect of behavior.
I won;t comment on the potential differences between alcohol and marijuana, since the law allows one and not the other. As long as alcohol doesn't affect your driving, then there is no legal standing to interfere with it, nor is there any big push to have society do so.
Best of luck in the future, but that future is a bit of a ways off right now. -
Thank you for your reply. Also I thank you for not passing judgement on me. Too many people are too quick to pass judgement, or to think that I am looking for sypathy, or pity. I'm not looking for either.
-
TELL me about it. I never understood why alcohol is so revered everywhere in the world. I do NOT drink. I hate the stuff. And most people who drink abuse it and do stupid things (not all, mind you, but one heck of a majority in North America do). College kids die of overdoses of this "wonderful" legal substance every year. It's sick. Marijuana NEVER kills people ALONE and no one goes into a huge rage with marijuana like they do with alcohol.
I'm considered an outcast, a "weirdo", I "don't fit in" because I don't drink. It's pathetic and disgusting, IMHO. -
If you dont mind my asking I have a question.
I ask not because I am passing judgement or anything else. I had a few classmates in CDL school who failed a drug test also. And that made me curious.
What were you thinking? The basis for the question id simply that the DOT and every company out there makes policy very plain on this subject. So what made it worth the risk?
Seriously I am not judging you or trying to give you a hard time by asking. I just know how hard you worked to get the CDL and get this far, and just cant help but wonder what made it worth the risk?
