So are you on the road solo now? It's good to hear from you new guys that you are doing well out there. I am glad you had a good experience and felt as if you were trained properly by a professional driver. This puts you as a driver out on the road prepared to actually be a professional truck driver. You also have a much better chance at success and making good money. The next three months are going to be a little tough but make sure you stick it out and stay positive. A lot of the next three months is mental and getting used to the lifestyle and adapting to the high stress of the job. Also being away from home. You should be fairly comfortable with the driving aspect of it now. Directions will probably take some time along with planning trips. Make sure you have a "Next Exit" book or truck stop guide. This is very crucial and will help you out immensely! Good luck to you and drive safely! Keep us updated.

No job is perfect. But it sounds like he found what he likes. That is why it is so important to make a list of goals and wants. His job may allow him to go on and retire when some others may quit the field all together. No one can tell you who to work for so you've got to know before going in if the company is going to give you want you need at that time.

Some people learn, adapt, and do well. Others cannot. Sounds like you have the makings of a trucker. Hang in there.:biggrin_25520:

I'm single, and not getting rich but I can buy a really nice house for cash. The secret is, not to get married, and if you do get a wife that works as an investment banker.

I do not want children, so any woman I date knows that from the beginning.

I couldn't help noticing this reply was to a username that could be misconstrued as a zip code.

OK, just remember...investment bankers are in that line of business because the first love in their lives is money. And when people's primary motivation in life is to make more and more money, anything else comes in a distant second.
