Hey Tiny, I am set to start class May 3 at Mid-Fla Tech. The course is 8wks /(360hr) with no weekend courses available. I've done quite a bit of research and for the money-($2100)- I think they will give me the skills I need to get on with my new career. One thing I liked about the course is they have a variety of transmissions to work with, decent sized shift track, small class size (10 per class) and over all good vibe. My impression at orientation was of a school that wants to produce a safe and compliant driver which I don't think the CDL Mills can boast that much about. One draw back is its a 10 hr day, M-Th, so if you can handle no check for a few months its definitely worth looking into. They do orientation every Tues at 11 am at the drive range, you have to attend this in order to get the ball rolling. The instructors were also honest about job placement, they say recruiters just don't need to show up like they used too back in the day due to the Internet and a sluggish economy. I basically took it as I'm on my own, which is fine by me. Let me know if you need any info on them, I plan on doing a daily thread once I start. I was impressed by xlsdraw and his great post, the least I can do is pay it forward and hope to help out anyone else interested in the school.

    Spacecoast and xlsdraw Thank this.
