A question about Cummins ICON system

boy, this is an old one!!!! i hope he had it figured out b4 now!!

 

Barkhorn, I tried it and could not get it to work. I tried it with the truck running and with it set to crank up and had no luck. When i set the cruise and then went to put it in gear of course it idled down but i expected that. I tried several ways and no luck. There might have been something that has been disconnected and i dont know what to look for ;or it might be in the computer.Your help was essential so now i can have a compter hookup done to see if anything is turned off and have it turned on.Then i can go back and do what you said to do because your the only one so far knew how to work the icon.Oh yeah it still cuts off after a few minutes and then it gets hot on you in that bunk.Thanks again 4 the help driver.

 

CUMMINS ICON IS NOTORIOUS FOR MALFUNCTION. IF EVEN THE ICON BLUE LIGHT BULB ON DASH GOES OUT, ICON WILL NOT WORK!!!

 

Ihave a little orange light on the dash to the right and i am sure its serves the same purpose as the blue one.

 

IF IT DOESN'T FLASH RAPIDLY WHEN YOU TURN CRUISE OFF THEN ON THEN FLASH SLOWLY AFTER YOU BUMP IN AND OUT OF GEAR IT MAY BE THE PROBLEM.
ALSO, THERE IS NO NEED TO GO ALL THE WAY INTO GEAR, JUST PUSH SHIFTER FARWARD OR BACKWARD WITHOUT CLUTCHING IT.

Hey thanks a lot friend. I got that message and will sure give it a try. And i will go out to the truck and try to push it a little ways on that gear and see how she does.

 

ANYTIME, BTW, MY NEW TRUCK I CANT JUST PUSH FORWARD OR BACK FROM CENTER (2/3) I HAVE TO GO OVER TO RIGHT OR LEFT AND DO IT. DONT KNOW WHY.

 

Hey 10-4 I will try it and see how it goes, It is a 2004 volvo vnl670 and i just put a clutch in it a couple of weeks a go. I got your PM and will definitly try that if the clutch deal doesn't work.Iam use to the tri-pac so this icon thing is new to me.

 

thanks im trying it now.this is an old swift truck its a vovlo.i hope this works! i was going to have it removed from the truck and buy a apu but if this works ill stick with it. thanks again

 

If it still does not work you will have to check the fuse. It will be an inline in the battery box area.
