Just my opinion .. it does seem a bit stupid to be told you can't break up your driving hrs with teams .. and for that matter solo... maybe your drive for 6 hrs to where you unload your there for 5 hrs you sleep 4hrs of it and then if you felt like it, you should be able to hit the road with another load for 5-10 hrs..

but the way it is if you drove 6 hrs + 5 hrs sitting waiting to get unloaded or loaded you only have 3 hrs and your toast on your 14 .. thats is stupid IMO..

so let me get this straight----- if I only drove 5 hrs and stop and clock and switched to off duty in sleeper, I still have to wait 10 hrs before I can drive again ??

If I understand things right once you start your 14 hr clock, if you stop it, you then have to wait 10 hrs before you can start it again right ?

You can have 8 hours sleeper berth and that will "Pause" your clock...but might as well go a full 10 and start a new 14 hour most cases. Did have a case in OK where I only had to drive a few hours to get there and the guy said it to bump the dock and it would be a while (5-6 hour since they were understaffed that night). I asked him if he could load me last so I could get 8 hour pause in my clock. He was fine with that and i laid down and took a nap.
