How long has this driver been driving? Is he a cdl school rookie, or is he just new to driving for you?
Reason I ask is if he's cdl school rookie then I would think it's on his first company to teach him these thingsgentleroger Thanks this. -
I have been driving for just over 2 years now. My trainer and my school never covered it. However, I did get a message from the company to all driver saying that if the brakes are frozen up wait for break down to get there. I've only ran into it one time, and I called break down as instructed. Keep in mind new drivers are taught that we are not a mechanic, and can actually be fired from our job for trying. One of the people I went to truck driving school with was fired for changing his wiper blades. The wiper blades.

Ok sorry about that. I wish I could take back what I just said, but instead of terminating the driver just next time he comes by the office give him a one on one demonstration.
Rookies aint born knowing all the tricks of driving a semi. -

I just can't fathom calling break down service for pads frozen to a drum.
I understand that's what they tell you to do... lol.
Charge the system... tap the drums.. and 95% of the time you're gone in 10 minutes.
Breakdown might take hours.
Can you imagine the horse laughing that goes on back at the road service garages for being called out for THIS?
Why can't this stuff be taught?
It is part of driving a truck.
I guess they don't want you to change your own outside flats, either.
Save em a ton.
