I told a guy at the Love’s in Batesville Ms one day he had a flat off the rim. We walked to it and I showed him which one was flat. Standing about 100 feet away from the Love’s tire shop, he said “thanks, I will get it fixed later.” At that point I hoped the inside one next to it blew out when he got on the highway.
A question for you new drivers.

I lost count the amount of times I informed a driver about a flat and had same driver blow me off and (just) drive away.shogun Thanks this.

I don’t know the answer to your question. I would assume it’s the moving parts of the brake system. The lining that presses to the drum, and maybe the push rod, slack adjuster?

I will say my bad for not making my point more clear. I was not asking that question in an attempt to get drivers to ask ME how to do it. I was asking in an attempt to get you to think about it and ask outside of these forums. However in the link I posted in post # 21 there is some great points about doing this. Post #20 IN THAT THREAD along with #5,#14 and #17 has some really good points.

Not to be a dik, but how did you know he was a new driver? Please don't stop offering advice, we're not all like that...I hope.

I rather think in terms of Professional's and Steering Wheel holders. A professional driver in my opinion will NEVER place a CMV on the road with a known defect. A steering wheel holder may however. Most steering wheel holders don't last long in this job (thankfully). So I think in general when a driver does something really stupid they are inside that first year.

It was an assumption.. based upon the fact that he looked about 25yo and was driving for a typical starter mega.
I coulda been wrong, though. He might just look young and have 10 yrs experience.Oxbow Thanks this.
