Um, the only time I rarely flash my brights at someone is for coming at me with the highbeams on or when someone who passes me is clearly one of those types that's stuck in the '70's and expects to be flashed over each and every time they pass a slower truck.
As most would say, that's when its only applicable. But then again, you get these monkeys that want that flash no matter the situation and If you get the opportunity to talk to them about it, most of them like to use the phrase, "lack of common courtesy" to back up their argument. As far as I'm concerned, there's a big difference between courtesy and requirement.
Even during the day??
Well, I guess I'm failing to understand what you mean about "by your leave" to the trucker.
Are you perhaps being one of those types I've been talking about and telling the trucker that he/she is being inconsiderate? Please explain.
I thought you ran for swift but that has what, again, to do with this conversation?
I don't think passing trucks have a hard time seeing the blinking lowbeams during the day but my philosophy is, during a bright, sunny day, you shouldn't be blinded by a vehicle's highbeams and If you are, you either got some serious problems, or not all your dogs are barking. Number two, because of that mentioned above, its easier to reach for the dimmer switch rather than on the middle of the dash or down by your knee for the headlight switch and during the day for most people, you don't have to feel guilty for using the highbeams to flash someone over during the day.

My running for Swift is part of the conversation because you were saying I don't know what it's like to be passed all the time. I was demonstrating that I do.
"By your leave" is kind of a calm, friendly way of saying "excuse me."
I'm done explaining myself to you. You take that flash any way you want to. I was only trying to point out it's not always meant in a negative way. If I'm calling you an arsehat with my lights, it will be a single flash of my left turn signal. Other than that, it's all good intention. Read it however you like. Because I couldn't care less you're looking for an excuse to get p/oed. -

So the bottom line is, day or night, it's impolite to bright light a passing truck. If you do it, then your a jerk. Period. End of story.

Besides, I get a lot of thanks flashes when I use my highbeams during the day so I have a hard time believing I'm doing anything wrong.Stoney Thanks this. -
Not end of story.

I dont care about the flashing brites but yeah turn your fog lites off azzhole..
hrdman2luv Thanks this. -
But bright lights during the day or night, is bothersome.. Because you know, when your passed the truck, and that's when you look. And that's when you get blinded.. It never fails.
A bright light, day or night, is still bright. -
Highbeams are ok but fog lights blind you?........ How funny.
You do know that OEM "fog" lights are of the same wattage as the low beams, don't you?
