Well, here we go again. Yesterday at the intersection of SH-254 and River Valley Rd. in Towanda KS. another talented-well trained Swift driver missed a gentle curve in the highway became airborne and sent the entire rig onto it's side in the middle of a muddy field. It was quite the process uprighting the rig and getting it back up the side of a steep incline.
If only I had one weeks worth of recovery fees charged to Swift I think I'd be able to live quite securely. I can't help but wonder if the higher ups in this company grow tired of incidents such as these or if they just consider it part of doing business.
It's even more shocking that they can find customers willing to put freight on these trailers! I'm sure by now that their reputation precedes them!
With any luck, one of the positives of CSA2010 will result in companies such as this no longer being allowed to do business this way. Think what their safe-stat scores are gonna be! I can only hope that this will prevent this nonsense in the future.

I've seen 5 total (Swift) on their side when I was driving ( including one off I65 in Indiana south of Gary ) for a week without being moved.

Cost of doing business for them ... cheap drivers - cheap rates - bottom line.

I'd like to see pics also! I haven't got to do a Swift recovery yet, but I have one J.B. Hunt and a Werner on my scoresheet so far..:biggrin_2556:
