    Don’t buy coax with less than 95% shielding. You want good quality coax even for short runs.

    Nothing beats a resonant antenna. Using a "tuner" doesn't make the antenna resonant. It simply makes the transmitter happy like a dummy load.
    Without resonance, efficiency will be compromised both with receive and transmit.

    Yeah, I always kind of believe in adjusting the antenna to the correct length for the frequencies Im normally using, I'll use a tuner like hooker up to the screwdriver, for roaming around the band, but mostly for listening. I will tx with them on channels when strolling about.

    If I was considering running something like this: Wilson 2000 Trucker Antenna Kit

    On my 2020 Cascadia, would that fit the phased/phased array definition?

    The antenna is too short and the mounting location is too low.
