Marshall has ordered mandatory water restrictions after one of the towns three wells dried up.
We need everybody to conserve on water. This is mandatory; it is not voluntary, Alderman Luther Nix said Wednesday morning;
He said the towns water system is dropping 2 inches a day. It measures 13.5 feet when full, and was down to 12.2 feet on Wednesday morning.
An emergency town meeting has been called for Thursday morning, and Mayor Lawrence Ponder said Wednesday, if we dont find additional water, then in five or six weeks well be out.
Nix spent the morning Wednesday contacting commercial water users in the Madison County town, telling them of the restrictions. He walked to downtown restaurants to tell them that they needed to use paper or plastic materials until the restrictions end.

They should have said something last month. I was flooded and had to deal with it for over a week.
