Saw a post referring to a Kentworth T680. I am familiar with brands (K-Wopper,Petercar,Freightshaker,etc) What does the letter, and numbers that follow stand for?
A whole new language to learn.

Just model numbers for different trucks. KW has W900,T680,T800 etc. Pete has 389,587 etc

I went to the different manufacturers web sites, Peterbilt.com , Kenworth.com to start getting familiar with the different models. Also occasionally look at some of the used truck dealer web sites (dreaming I guess). Still got lots to learn about the models, but they are starting to be familiar.

I know with cars,GT=Gran Turismo,LTD=Limited,etc..So I am sure the letters mean somthing.Do the numbers have anything to do with engine size?
-
No nothing to do with engine size you can order many different engine configurations in the same model

How about Harley Davidson ? They have so many model numbers, like 5 or 6 letters.

I know with lighter trucks , even Freightliner the number signifies the weight class . FL 60 class 6 , FL 70 class 7 . Chevy and Dodge 4500 class 4 .
