I just started a couple weeks ago and I am so unsure about all this now. I went through the schooling while working full time. I got my license day after school ended.. I then went straight to orientation a couple days after getting license. I have been on truck couple of weeks with someone with whom I thought was a friend and would train me. But all she does is complain about the money she is losing. She is the one who offered to train me since her husband just retired.
Is it wrong to feel pissed off or disappointed? I mean she has made me feel like this whole thing was such a burden to her...
Was everyone's first experience out here crappy and then it will get better? Should I go back to my company and ask for new trainer? Should I turn her in for some of the things she is doing? So lost about all this. THIS is all new to me. NOT quite sure what I expected.

How long does your company want you to be with her until they give you your own truck?
-
If you are not getting the training you need, then you need to get a new trainer.
It will be your life & paycheck on the line when it is just you in the truck.Texas_hwy_287, TaterFox, Gearjammin' Penguin and 11 others Thank this. -
Now I'm stuck... I'll lose a friend and don't know how to report the bad stuff to the company without her retaliation.... -
I just feel bad... she is a friend but where I used to work( office job for gov't) it was all black n white no grey area.
Here it seems like 50 shades of grey...lolLandincoldfire and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -

Why are you worrying about her? It is your life, your license, your job. Ask for a different trainer. She can get the hubby back in the game or go solo. You do you, always.

She doesn’t sound like that great of friend anyway, so it doesn’t seem like you’d be losing much. Your CDL is your lively hood so you need to protect it. Friends, like jobs come and go.
Get with someone who teaches you the right way to do things and that you’re comfortable with.RockinChair, Blueeyes Searching, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this. -
