Plus they have to pay someone to train you . And you’re not making as much revenue for them because you don’t have the skill set . My son is an apprenticecelectrician at 14 an hour and when he Journeys he’ll be at 40

His trainer probably lectured him non-stop until he decided he'd rather be a drivers lounge hobo.

When I was younger I was a waitress. We had a homeless man come in to the tiny diner and ask for a cup of coffee. He tried to pay for it immediately and was short a few cents. I took the remaining change out of my apron and he sat down. The customer behind him, one of my regulars, handed me $100 and told me to feed the man and give him the change. I told him breakfast was on me and he told me to just give him the money. The man cried and thanked me. I let him know that all I did was feed him and that the other gentleman offered him the money. He came back a few months later, only I didn't recognize him at all. He was clean cut and in a suit. The money he was given had taken him very far. He went out and rented a room, went to Goodwill and bought a suit, cleaned himself up and then got a job.
I was 15 back then. My new theory is that if I attempt to help 100 people and it works for 1, I'm happy. We never know anyone's story or circumstances.Gearjammin' Penguin, x1Heavy, kemosabi49 and 7 others Thank this. -

I’ll say this. Every single person has needed help at some point. It doesn’t matter if it’s money, mechanical help, computer help, mental help etc.
There are things money can’t buy.
I dislike when people think Money is the end all and a mark of someone’s worth. It’s not. I find nothing better than a random stranger who helps you with something wanting nothing in return. I dropped my wallet once. A homeless guy yelled to me that I dropped it. He wouldn’t take anything. That’s a good man.Bookhacker, MBAngel, Feedman and 2 others Thank this. -
You definitely need help, of that there is absolutely NO DOUBT whatsoever.

This I agree and disagree with. When I was growing up my parents both made very good money. Combined they brought in $175k a year. They had a great savings and were wise with their money. My dad was the manager of a credit union that wanted to sell out to big corp. He kept convincing the board that it was a bad idea and they listened. The big wigs had the credit union audited over and over again driving away members and eventually my dad quit. He got a smaller job making much less. My grandpa got very sick and my dad then quit his job, went to school and brought grandpa home. All of this would have been fine if my mom's boss hadn't finally gone looney toons and decided my mom was stealing from her. (The woman would go to high end retail stores EVERY WEEKEND and spend thousands of dollars on clothes.) My mom showed her over and over again where her money went to and yet the woman would say it was all good and then go right back at it the next day. My mom, then quit. My mom then got a job at Goodwill where she moved up the ladder and quickly made manager paying less than $40k a year. My dad finally got another job after my grandpa passed away. Then my dad passed away. My mom now lives alone, pays her bills, works herself to death making less than half of what she previously made and struggles to get her savings back up. Some things in life we cannot control.x1Heavy and bryan21384 Thank this.

Well it wasn't my starter. It was the micro switch on the clutch pedal that enables the starter.
Wasn't it lucky for me that it went bad?
Whomever thinks that luck has anything to do with weaving your way through Chi town, hitting 17 docks, that I've never been to before, and getting out unscathed has anything to do with luck, is mad.Feedman Thanks this. -
Show me someone who says they’ve never needed help of any kind, and I’ll show you someone who is lying to themself of that I have NO DOUBT.Maj. Jackhole, Sirscrapntruckalot, Feedman and 2 others Thank this.
