Abandon Trainee

I’ll say this. Every TS I’ve stopped at in the last 24 hours has had one trainee looking individual with his bags just camping in the drivers lounge.

 

I still remember how surprised and amazed I was when Halliburton explained to me that I would get paid to go to class and get my CDL.
They even fed us lunch every day! Being from South America I had never heard of such treatment to future employees!
It changed my life. It was hard work. But by golly I saw it thru.

 

I'm beginning to really wonder anymore about these folks who we're saying aren't willing to help themselves. At my age, I've seen too many years of government welfare programs that followed the Democrat Socialism of the Woodrow Wilson years. I'm afraid that the government's plan to create a part of society dependent upon the government has worked, and worked really friggin well. And I'm concerned about these folks who we're now saying have the opportunity to make better decisions for themselves. What if they CAN'T make these decisions because they've become a product of the same government that originally was so eager to help them in the first place. What if...these folks don't actually know how to help themselves because none of the generations that came before them knew any different. A genetic mutation at hyper speed, so to speak.

 

What happened to the Apache tribe?

 

They were decimated by disease, ravaged by fighting constant, often simultaneous wars against historical foes and a technologically superior force with an exponentially growing population.
