If you're going to abandon the truck do it with style. Take it to the hood so it will get stripped by thugs! Sell the fuel to make some extra cash!

    Starboyjim Thanks this.

Hope the day off clears the air for you! So if your not beholden to them for tuition start looking for a better driving job. Use the bad experience positively--your not "new" anymore.

Every company knows how ###### up Werner is, they might put a abandonment on your records even if you do bring it back to the terminal but you could fight and get it off. Take the truck back, fill out an app at a new place immediately. I'm a new driver too so I know how it is, no company is going to be great but you could realistically make over thirty thousand in your first year, Werner will never let you make that unless you train, and lease lol. Pm me if you want advice on companies hiring new drivers in your area, you need to get the hell away from Werner.

Worse case scenario is ok they may take his check and deposit, and they may put it on dac, (who cares). And then they may also report to credit bureau (again no big deal).

i have had swift, and England both report to dac and credit bureau, you know what they never got one single dime, they are not going to take the time to sue a driver. Here we go with scare tactics you sound like a Werner recruiter or supporter.

ok so it messed my credit up for a few years, no biggie there to me, and now it's off the credit reports.

find a bridge to park that truck under and clean it out run, while you still can.

No offense.... but.. as a new driver, you dont k ow now it is... there is a lot to learn in this industry. . And a lot of 2 hand, third hand and just plain made up information tossed around and too many people must buy into it all...

Werner has several accounts.. now it is true, you have to have a good driving and track record to get on some of the higher paying accounts... but, but even right off the trainers truck, if hou got a decent score you can get on the accounts paying .30 CPM and up, plus accessorie pay such as safety pay, stop pay, and such...
If a driver does their job.. picks up and delivers on time, drives safe without preventable incidents, and such then they sbould be on an account and running around 2500 miles averaging .40 CPM or more...

The mistake most newbie drivers make.. Is they dont understand the industry so they get on and stay on an account where they wont make the money they could. .. for example. . Alot of newbies want to travel and see the country.. so the get on one of the OTR accounts... what they dont realize is.. the miles will first go to team drivers, then trainers with students, then the dispatchers dependable and reliable solos, who know now to manage their time, do t take 34 hojr resets, a d stay out for several weeks, generally 8 or more weeks.... then the left over mkles go to the remaini g solos...

So, they get on an account where there are last in line.. and fight for scraps.... and then they complain because they lack understanding of the industry. .. a team truck that is always running can move a load cross country faster then a solo driver that can only drive 11 hours a day... same with a trainer and student... they can run more miles then the solo driver..

A driver can make money at Werner.. but they need to get on the right account...
