You are a complete idiot and total loser if you abandon a load. Man up, grow up and get to a terminal.

Honestly, if you're the type of guy that can just dump a truck at a Pilot and walk you will never make it in trucking. You know this too, so dump it.
scythe08 and realsupatrucka Thank this. -
Your first mistake was you signed up with Werner. Your next mistake is abandoning that truck.
Chinatown and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Don't abandon the truck. Quitting because you've had enough of the hassle is one thing, but do it the right way. You'll get to keep your self respect and know you followed through with your responsibilities to the end. Walking away is for losers.

Just because he's decided that truck driving isn't what he expected it at least he tried and decided to hang it up rather than to be miserable. Trucking doesn't suit everyone and he's frustrated and just wants advice on how to get out. Not be reamed by everyone
VdotFoxx, snowwy and seamallowance Thank this. -
Posts like this have made me decide to stick to driving local with my class B, I make $16 an hour plus benefits and I am home every night, I can live with that. Maybe the grass isn't always cleaner.

HotH2o, BrenYoda883, Naptown and 7 others Thank this.

Just like any credit report, the info will remain on your DAC for 7 years. The abandonment will blackball you from most large carriers who subscribe to DAC. There are lots of smaller companies who don't subscribe so that info won't come up unless you tell them.
Don't know your situation on how you obtained your CDL, but if there is any tuition reimbursement that you signed a contract for, expect a demand letter to repay funds advanced to you.
If you are dead set on quitting, be a man and notify your DM and tell him/her you quit and need to be routed to the nearest terminal to clean your truck out.
And when you do turn it in, document the condition with pictures, and have a shop person sign that the truck is in acceptable condition like you received it.
Then find some other line of work, because it isn't going to get better, probably worse in the next few years.
