Man up. If your going to quit be man enough to tell them and find out where they want their truck. I get it, you hate trucking and you drive for Werner. Your life sucks, but you worked hard for that cdl, protect it again. Really only future one has in this country anymore.

Just quit and go home.....its really not that hard to do
Milkman719 and lagbrosdetmi Thank this. -
Don't listen to these people, it's Werner for gods sake, you want to leave the truck in the middle of the freeway and walk so do it. I have abandon more than one truck in my lifetime but yet I never been without a driving job. But here are some points to consider.....
1) if you only have 2 months solo in you really need to be there for at least 6 months most places will hire you with 6 months. If you leave now with only 2 months solo, most will want you to go through a refresher course and go do the training part all over again.
2) if you are thinking of being out for 5 years then (1) doesn't matter as future employers will require you to do refresher training, and you will also have to go through the training program again.
3) if you just going to go into a different line of work, then (1) & (2) don't matter at all.
my student I trained has companies like roehl, Crete, etc....begging him to just leave his truck and trailer at a truckstop, rest area doesn't matter and put him in a new truck tomorrow. But he hasn't done it yet, but he may still do it.
if you were going to get fired you think Werner is going to send you to a terminal near your home to fire you? Think not, and they won't give you any notice either? Most employers would look at where you were at, and probably would over look the abandonment thing and hire you anyways.Bam69Yankee Thanks this. -
Go be a d.o.t man lol....get to sit around all day and do next to nothing and get paid for it lol

And trucking is really cool...amd its momey to be made....it's just dry van that suckz to me....try flatbed or tanker companies

Maybe if the OP would stick it out for a while, he could get on the "Werner truck retrieval" team. I imagine the miles are great there. I suspect much of the equipment is in pretty bad shape though so that's a negative.
