So because a company wants more experience you besmirch them. Just move on and apply at other companies. You will likely find one that will take your qualifications.

Candidates with less than 1 year MAY be eligible for training. Obviously, if your experience is driving a straight truck, you would not be eligible. I don't know your experience. luck to ya'

There's often a disconnect between the department posting those ads and the people who actually run freight. Company policy may allow for training drivers who don't have the required experience, but that doesn't mean squat if there aren't any trainers available. That ad was probably a cut and paste that's been posted many times before.

Its not a time thing, its an economy thing. All the LTL outfits were slowing, contracting, laying off and furloughing DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON! That's historically the busiest time of the year, and instead of hiring extras and driver helpers, they were sending people packing.

Its not going to "pick up" this year. Maybe not even next year. Look into another facet of the industry.

Right now, with less than a year under your belt, your best bet on getting on anywhere that has decent pay and enough freight to keep you moving is reefer.

What you read was probably the basic requirements. The actual requirements like freight and freight rates change on supply & demand.
Never get your hopes up until the truck keys are in your hands.

I don't see too many scenarios where LTL companies will take a driver with under a year experience. Reason being, you won't find a shortage of FAR MORE EXPERIENCED drivers wanting to work LTL. Not only that, the ad just mentions a possibility they'll take an inexperienced driver. It'll behoove you to get experience in paying attention to detail. Pretty important in our industry.

Try contacting @Chinatown . He’s our “residential job guru” when it comes to locating employment. What experience do you have and where are you located?

Depends on the terminal. If ABF is short on drivers, they'll hire right out of school or uses the Dock-to-Driver program.
I know a guy that wanted to work for Yellow and he got the runaround also. He called several terminals and one hired him and happy to get him.
