ABF layoffs

Like a herd of squirrels.

 

Theres an ABF terminal by me in Montgomery NY,wonder if theyre on the chopping block?

 

Practically every Yellow employee I knew was trying to get into ABF. I heard some had tried to apply months in advice and there was a long waiting list. Now they're doing layoffs during Yellow's demise? That's a pretty sick joke. UPS in my area rarely has positions open so it looks like most will have to go with non-union carriers who may be relucatant to hire.

 

When I was a manager at FXF, we were quietly told that we do not even consider a union guy.

 

Not at all, they are extremely busy. Looking to hire more drivers.

 

Is there work everyday for new drivers?

We had one of those guys at my barn. Not trying to tar everyone with the same brush, but let's just say that the 'lazy POS union' stereotypes exist for a reason.

 

It wasn't necessary that, it was more about the prospect of organizing.

 

Currently living with the folks.
There is a 16 year old girl, 19 year old girl, my mother is going through menopause and two very loud, easy to get barking dogs.

My step dad and I basically just hide out in the yard while the sun is up. And in my case, even when it goes down.

It's been...interesting...Hey did you guys know there's a wrong way to wash your hands? And apparently I'm the only one who doesn't know how to do it right?
