ABF Freight's insurance is far from "100% company paid". They pay for it in lower wages as well as union dues, everything I've read points to city drivers topping out at less than $27/hr and less than .65cpm for road drivers. No thanks.
I don't consider $33/wk for a family plan (thats health, dental and vision) with a $4500 deductible to be "very expensive", so right off the bat, ABF union dues paid alone (post tax dollars) amount to almost half of what I pay for insurance.

Their top scale is .63 cpm right now, also on the benefits, how much does the full boat cost a week, last but not least, how long does a ABF employee have to spend on the on call board for linehaul on average? Not picking on ABF, just curious.FlaSwampRat and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

If you don’t have the miles, it doesn’t matter if you’re making a buck a mile.FlaSwampRat and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.

My statement was toward your OD friend that has a higher rate but makes less than you. So you’d be arguing for no reason anyway.FlaSwampRat and Texas_hwy_287 Thank this.
