ABF Freight's insurance is far from "100% company paid". They pay for it in lower wages as well as union dues, everything I've read points to city drivers topping out at less than $27/hr and less than .65cpm for road drivers. No thanks.

I don't consider $33/wk for a family plan (thats health, dental and vision) with a $4500 deductible to be "very expensive", so right off the bat, ABF union dues paid alone (post tax dollars) amount to almost half of what I pay for insurance.

Their top scale is .63 cpm right now, also on the benefits, how much does the full boat cost a week, last but not least, how long does a ABF employee have to spend on the on call board for linehaul on average? Not picking on ABF, just curious.

If you don’t have the miles, it doesn’t matter if you’re making a buck a mile.

My statement was toward your OD friend that has a higher rate but makes less than you. So you’d be arguing for no reason anyway.
