Not bashing ABF, they seem like a good company, but after the last concessions they got away with threatening to close terminals if they didnt get the concessions, they are close those terminals anyway. And they are licking their chops now, since they magically can show a profit now. Do not expect to get back to those wages, as i guarantee you, come next contract, the same #### and bull story will come up again. Once you open the flood gates, kinda hard to stop the tide, and them asking for more and more which seems to be the trend across the LTL sector.

That's why I'm in the process of trying to get hired on at Wal-Mart.

I'm hoping to hear from Hurricane Utah. I turned down an interview last year with Wal-Mart because I wanted to see what the new union contract would look like. After nine years with ABF I had to much to lose if the contract was decent to good. Needless to say the contract sucked.

    Good luck on your interview.

It's a good job if you're okay with being out on the road.

I wouldn't leave ABF for Walmart but if you got a family to support then I can understand

Would not leave ABF for walmart either. I'd jump to OD or UPSF before driving around with a sleeper and not home everyday.

Don't forget Estes. I've talked to Estes and OD guys, even with some of the BS and the no overtime they all seemed fairly happy with little complaints

I wouldn't leave ABF either. They are still in the top 3 imo. I worked for Estes and was hired right on a bid run. It was a good place to work but I wouldn't ever be a p&d driver there due to the overtime thing.
