Can you teach helpful training tip #84......when backing roll your windows down and turn the radio down. Been seeing too many guys backing with the windows up. It could mean the difference between a fender bump and a torn off hood by the sound.

I do. Jeremy does it everytime. I will admit I dont always and am trying to break myself of a habit I picked up of kicking my door open. Window is safer. Its 65 here and muggy. No idle which blows. At least I have a decent fan.

Sorry, can't hear you. Listening to AC/DC , eating and drinking while talking on my phone without my Bluetooth while I'm backing. LOL

BH offloaded me at 0330 and then we sat until 0830. Got our reload. 2 p/u going back to the yard for delivery down the street to Petersburg by our locals. 1st p/u was 13300 lbs. 2 nd pickup was up in Bayonne. BOL said28000...packing list said 30800. Well did the math and told Tim Id take it and should be right at 80000 with fuel state. I know my exact weight with full tanks reefer and dry van. I have the CAT scale tickets in my permit book. If I was overweight at Carneys pt Tim would have a solo take it from me. I did the math twice and should have been dead on at 80.set my tandems and rolled out.
Result at Carneys pt...83600. Holy crap. 12500, 34380 and trl 36720!!!! 2nd shipper was way off. Not even a Mack with 1/2 tanks is light enough for that. Tim said go back and refuse load. It was 1530 when that came down. I said BS! They would be closed and so I took a leisurely drive out to Kinzers and down 83 then 95 to 495 to 66 out to 17south to Freddyburg. An approved 140 mi out of route but here I sit in Richmond with yummy Waffle House in my tummy.

Yeah with reefer and full tanks I sit at 36,600. Had a shipper in Chicago once call me a liar when I refused pickup and I told the person that relayed that I don't lie and the manager better stay hidden or they were gonna look like a pug. I think they got the hint.
