Tomorrow, I believe...
I'm expecting all the LTL outfits to be targetted for hazmat fishing expeditions.Redtwin Thanks this. -
Hmm, so how did safety know he wasn't wearing his seatbelt if it's only an event recorder? Everyone claims no one is watching? It's a rhetorical question, just wish all these companies that use them would stop with the BS about them only being an event recorder.

I'm guessing he had an event, brake or stability, after he stopped covering the camera but before correcting his seat belt issue. The stability report is easy to get. I generate one at the northbound off ramp at Willis Rd EVERY TIME I'm headed back to our main yard. Loaded or empty, bobtail or not, never fails. Stop at the intersection, RHT at two mph, red light goes flashin'. Irks me so bad sometimes I'll get off at 288 and come down 301 to Willis just to keep from setting it off. But no one's ever said anything to me about it.ExtremeUnction Thanks this.

Assuming we're talking about the same guy here. Once they got all those events recording, THEN they watched him is what I learned. I was in safety when it was brought up to him once. Don't know how many other times he had been told about it. He said something about they knew why he refused to wear a seatbelt, but didn't elaborate. This was back say October-ish of last year when this particular incident happened.

Make sure it's stuck firmly to the windshield. I had a windshield replaced and the glass guys didn't use new adhesive tape to stick it back on so when going over bumps the camera would shake more and set off the light. It wasn't until I was cleaning the inside of the windshield that I noticed it was loose.
You won't hear anything from Safety unless the monitoring company reviews the event and sees a safety issue. There must be thousands of events where the camera shows nothing in front of the truck with the driver not texting or making a sandwich etc that they can only put down to bumps in the road.
I wouldnt go out of my way just to avoid those bumps, however I do go extra slow when making the left to go SB 95 from Willis as I have had it go off there when bobtailing to the store. Bobtail is the worst for red light bumpy road events. -
Cut the cable. While you can still afford the snips. LolRebelChick Thanks this.

Don't let it stop you. At first I felt the same way. Now? When it goes off I just laugh, smile and wave. Bumps set it off all the time in my truck. Especially the bridges on 35 to OH. What a crap road that is. Lolmitrucker Thanks this.

Don't forget SB 295 in Richmond. Only time I know my camera went off (before I covered the lights) was bobtailing home and hit a few of those bad ones when they were doing construction.chralb Thanks this.
